FAQ for motorcycle rentals and motorcycle tours

  • What form of payments do you accept?

    We are currently accepting cash or online payments via PayPal.

  • Do you rent riding gear?

    We currently only have a limited number of helmets and limited sizes. We highly recommend you bring your own riding gear.

  • Do you provide locks?

    We do not provide locks for the bikes. We recommend you to park the bikes in secure places. During the day public places have a guard whom you can ask to look after the bike for 5-10 Cordobas ($0.25-$0.50 cents). At night we recommend parking in secure parking lot or in the lobby of the hotel.

  • What happens if I get a flat tire or if there is a mechanical breakdown?

    First and foremost, make sure that your motorcycle is parked a safe distance from the shoulder of the road if you are not able to stop in a secure area. For minor repairs such as punctures, lose bolt etc. we will provide you a tool kit. We also provide you with a telephone number for roadside assistance if needed. In the case of breakdown we will send our mechanic and a replacement motorcycle if needed.

  • What are the directions of Nicaragua Motorcycle Adventures?

    We are currently located in a private neighborhood in the outskirts of Managua. We do not have a store front. Therefore we conduct our business online and upon rental confirmation we send you the directions to our place.

  • Can you give me an idea what I should budget for the trip for accommodation?

    You can find good accommodation with private bathroom, air conditioning, wi-fi for 40-60USD/night. You can also find luxury accommodation for more than 250USD/night and backpacker places where you will spend less than 15USD/night.

  • Can I take the motorcycle out of Nicaragua?

    It is possible but it requires significant amount of paperwork and time. Depending if you are going North or South of Nicaragua the type of paperwork differs. The process to take the motorcycle out of Nicaragua requires lawyers letter, additional taxes and police vehicle check. We require at least one full month notice to process the necessary documentation and payment up front for the paperwork.

  • What kind of license do you require to ride in Nicaragua?

    A valid motorcycle license from your home state or country is required. You must have at least 3 years of riding experience to rent from us.

  • Is there a place for me to store my luggage while renting a bike from Nica Moto?

    Absolutely. We offer a complimentary secure luggage storage area.

  • Can I have my motorcycle delivered to my hotel or other location?

    Absolutely. All Nica Moto rental locations offer motorcycle deliver and pick-up for individuals and groups. Please contact Nica Moto for a detailed quotation. These services carry an additional cost that will vary due to number of bikes, location, seasonality, or other factors, and are subject to availability of motorcycles and staff.

  • What is your policy on fuel?

    All Nica Moto motorcycles are presented with a full tank of fuel at the start of your rental, and should be returned with a full tank of fuel as well. If your motorcycle is returned with less than a full tank of fuel you will incur a refueling charge. In order to save time and the hassles of refueling immediately prior to returning your motorcycle, Nica Moto offers a convenient Prepaid Fuel Option that can be selected during your booking process.
